BUILDING PRACTICAL SKILLS FOR GREATER INDEPENDENCE

At V Can Autism Foundation, Life & Vocational Skills focuses on building practical abilities that help children develop greater independence and prepare for meaningful participation in everyday life.

Our approach connects learning with real-life activities, helping children practise skills that can be useful at home, school, community and future work environments.

OUR APPROACH

  • UNDERSTAND

We begin by understanding the child’s abilities, interests, needs and level of independence.

  • PLAN

Individual priorities and meaningful life-skill goals are identified.

  • DEVELOP

Children are supported in developing practical skills through structured and everyday activities.

  • PRACTISE

Skills are repeatedly practised through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

  • USE

Children are encouraged to use their skills in everyday environments and real-life situations.

  • INDEPENDENCE

The goal is to help children do more, participate more and become more independent.
