BUILDING PRACTICAL SKILLS FOR EVERYDAY LIFE

At V Can Autism Foundation, Behaviour & Skill Development focuses on developing practical skills that support learning, communication, regulation and participation.

We understand that every child is different. Our approach begins by understanding the child and creating meaningful opportunities to practise skills through structured and everyday activities.

OUR APPROACH

  • UNDERSTAND

We understand the child’s individual strengths, needs, communication, learning, behaviour and daily living abilities.

  • PLAN

We identify individual priorities and meaningful developmental goals.

  • DEVELOP

We support children in building practical skills that encourage learning, communication, regulation and participation.

  • PRACTISE

Children receive repeated opportunities to practise skills through structured and everyday activities.

  • USE

Skills are encouraged across home, school, community and residential environments.

  • INDEPENDENCE

The goal is to help children do more, choose more and participate more.
